Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Property Inspection Officer/Handyman to oversee the maintenance, inspection, and safety of our property assets. In this dynamic role, you will conduct regular inspections to identify repair needs, ensure compliance with safety standards, and perform hands-on maintenance tasks. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment that supports the organization’s operational excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead property upkeep while providing exceptional service to internal teams and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections of buildings, equipment, and facilities to identify maintenance issues or safety hazards
- Conduct repairs and maintenance tasks including welding, electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical adjustments
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot issues effectively
- Manage small-scale projects involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation systems
- Supervise contractors or team members during maintenance or repair activities to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities for compliance and reporting purposes
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal requests promptly and professionally
- Assist and carry out with weekly fire alarm testing
Skills
- Previous experience in property inspections, facilities management, maintenance or handyman services.
- Good practical maintenance and repair skills.
- Ability to identify property defects and maintenance issues.
- Competent using smartphones, tablets and digital reporting systems.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Willingness to travel between multiple sites.
