Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Assistant – Buyer / Planner to join our procurement team.
The ideal candidate will have purchasing and/or materials planning experience ideally from the automotive industry, however appropriate qualifications/experience, a professional attitude and a willingness to learn would be equally beneficial.
Duties
- Booking and Receiving information via SAP.
- General purchasing administration and data maintenance.
- Interrogation of customer/supplier information.
- Raising and issuing purchase orders to suppliers.
- Monitoring and tracking purchase order status.
- Booking transportation for delivery.
- Tracking container shipments to UK port.
- Plan and manage inventory levels of parts and materials.
- SAP master maintenance including Bill on Materials.
Qualifications
- Experience of MRP/ERP systems, inventory planning, forecasting and Bill of Materials management.
- Ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects/situations.
- Able to monitor and improve performance and practice.
- A confident communicator (in person/email/phone).
- Ability to build strong relationships to bring about supportive supplier behaviours.
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft office (especially Excel) would be a distinct advantage.
