We are excited to be recruiting for a Project Worker to join our team at Charles England House in Patchway.
This is an opportunity to make a real difference by supporting young people, including young parents and care-experienced young people, as they build the skills and confidence they need to move on to independent living.
If you share our values and have experience working in supported accommodation—or transferable skills in supporting people and managing housing-related responsibilities—we would love to hear from you.
Please find full details of how to apply via our website in the advert below. The deadline for application submissions is 23:59, Monday 10 August 2026.
We aim to build a more diverse workforce that reflects the young people we support, including those from migrant, refugee and asylum-seeking communities. We therefore warmly encourage applications from individuals who are currently under-represented at 1625ip, including people from minoritised backgrounds, and anyone with relevant lived experience.
If you need an adjustment to be made to any part of the recruitment process, please let us know as soon as possible.
Who are we?
We are a leading youth homelessness charity based in the Southwest, working with over 1,500 young people. At 1625ip we are driven by Social Justice and Passion: we strive to do something that matters and take pride in seeing the results of our work in social outcomes and improving young people’s lives.
How we work
At 1625ip our work is rooted in Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE) and Trauma-Informed Practice (TIP). Our Psychologically Informed Framework shapes how we build relationships, use our spaces, and support young people. This means we prioritise safety, trust, collaboration, and understanding the impact of trauma in every interaction. You don’t need prior experience in PIE or TIP to apply - we’ll support you to learn and develop these approaches in the role.
What you will be doing:
- By being empathic and understanding, you will build trusting relationships with homeless young people, care-experienced young people, and young parents by taking the time to understand their individual needs and the barriers they face. You will develop person-centred support plans and provide one-to-one support to a small caseload, empowering young people to achieve greater independence.
- Using your knowledge and creativity, you will help young people maximise their income and manage their rent accounts, including addressing any arrears, reinforcing a positive rent culture.
- Through your enthusiasm, you will be able to work on your own initiative but also alongside your team, ensuring a safe and thriving home environment for young people.
- By being well organised, efficient, and effective you will undertake a host of housing management tasks, including preparing properties for letting, supporting young people in entering and leaving our service and Health and safety checks to ensure the safety of young people, colleagues and the project.
- Using your organisation and IT skills, you will ensure a variety of records are kept up to date.
- By being flexible, you will work to a set rota, including evenings and weekends including lone working shifts.
- Applying or developing skills and knowledge of Supported Accommodation Regulations to support Care Experienced young people
You will be in the Charles England House team and your line manager will be the Charles England House Team Leader.
Our Competency Development Framework sits at the heart of how we work at 1625ip. It links our values with the behaviours we expect to see in everyday practice and supports colleagues to learn, reflect and develop. It also means our recruitment is grounded in behaviours, not just experience, so applications, interviews and job profiles all focus on how we work, not only what we do.
No prior experience? No problem! We believe in your potential and are committed to providing training and support to help you thrive. If you have transferrable skills and you are interested in this role, but you are worried about the application process, please get in touch with us. We encourage you to have an informal chat with the recruiting manager to discuss how your personal or professional experience and skills could be transferred to this role. Details of how you can do that are further down in this advert.
