We are seeking the right candidate for a new role in the business.
At The Watership Down Inn, we have 7 bedrooms. As our rooms get busier, we are looking for someone to lead the Housekeeping team to ensure that our bedrooms are cleaned and presented to a high standard and to develop, with the existing team, work practices and procedures to ensure the department runs smoothly.
In addition, we are looking at expanding our breakfast offering, not only to our staying guests, but also to the wider community.
The ideal candidate would be comfortable in a front of house role to welcome and serve our breakfast guests and then, when breakfast service has finished, to be able to organize themselves and a small team to ensure the pub and rooms are clean and looking their best.
Key Objectives:
- To lead the team and set housekeeping standards and be a role model for the rest of the Housekeeping team
- This role includes basic admin – guest enquires & stock control
- To manage the Housekeeping rota, in conjunction with the Front of House Manager to ensure adequate cover across the week, including cover for holidays
- Run breakfast services ensuring guests are welcomed and orders are taken correctly, with all relevant information, including allergens
- Daily housekeeping operations, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard
- Manage inventory of linen & cleaning supplies and equipment, maintain adequate stock levels
- To adhere to all Food Hygiene, Health & Safety and COSHH guidelines relevant to your role and the industry that we work in
- Collaborate with other departments ensuring good teamwork
Skills & Experience:
- Established experience as a Housekeeper in a hospitality environment
- Either with previous supervisory experience, or at a stage in your career where you are looking to take on more responsibility
- Attention to detail and a passion for creating and maintaining clean, memorable environments for our guests
- Previous food service experience and basic knowledge of using EPOS systems would be beneficial
- Organised and methodical with an ability to plan for the future, as well as the day-to-day
- Positive, friendly demeanor
- Strong focus on teamwork
- Good communication skills
- Ability to reliably commute to the site which is in a semi-rural location, but with good public transport links to Basingstoke, Andover and Whitchurch
Suggested work pattern:
- Up to 30 hours per week / 4 or 5 days a week / 07:30 – 14:00 approximately
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.80-£14.00 per hour
