We are seeking the right candidate for a new role in the business.
At The Watership Down Inn we have 7 bedrooms. As our rooms get busier, we are looking for someone to lead the housekeeping team to enhance our customer experience. You will ensure that our bedrooms are cleaned and presented to the highest standard and to develop, with the existing team, work practices, and procedures to ensure the department runs smoothly.
The ideal candidate would not only be comfortable in organizing themselves and a small team to ensure the pub, rooms and public areas are spotless and looking their best at all times but also communicate with customers via email and make sure that all of their needs are catered for and that their special occasions are not just special but have the wow factor.
Key Objectives:
- To lead the housekeeping team and set housekeeping standards and be a role model for the rest of the team
- This role includes basic admin – email, guest enquires & stock control
- To manage the housekeeping rota, in conjunction with the Front of House Manager
- Daily housekeeping operations, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard
- Manage inventory of linen & cleaning supplies and equipment, maintain adequate stock levels
- To adhere to all Health & Safety and COSHH guidelines relevant to your role and the industry that we work in
- Collaborate with other departments ensuring good teamwork
Skills & Experience:
- Established experience as a Housekeeper in a hospitality environment
- Either with previous supervisory experience, or at a stage in your career where you are looking to take on more responsibility
- A good level of written English and the ability to communicate effectively with guests via email
- Attention to detail and a passion for creating and maintaining clean, memorable environments for our guests
- Organised and methodical with an ability to plan ahead, as well as the day-to-day
- Positive, friendly demeanour
- Strong focus on teamwork
- Good communication skills
- Availability to work any 5 days of 7, shift pattern will include many weekend days (Hours mostly 10am-3pm).
Ability to reliably commute to the site, which is in a semi-rural location, but with good public transport links to Basingstoke, Andover, Overton, and Whitchurch
Suggested work pattern:
Up to 18-25 hours per week / 4 or 5 days a week including weekends / 10:00 – 14:00 approximately
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.80-£14.00 per hour
