Vimpex Limited is an independent Essex-based manufacturer of fire alarm and building infrastructure system evacuation devices and accessories as well as a well-respected distributor of rescue and other specialist equipment to the public sector.
Based at our Southend on Sea headquarters, you will be a key part of our support team involved in mechanical/electric service. Training will be given on all aspects of the role and opportunities for growth and development offered.
Service Technician:
· PDI/ Repair/ rectification and maintenance of portable hydraulic, electrical & petrol powered tools
· Faults diagnosis and preparing list of spares required to enable quote to be raised
· Liaising with administration department so that customer quotes can be raised and issued
· Provide customers with basic technical support by telephone – training will be provided
· Ensuring service database is kept up to date and history of tools is recorded
· Ensure the service area is kept in a clean, tidy and safe state
· Assist sales team with technical assistance
· Assist with general repairs and maintenance within the Vimpex facility
Skills
We would expect the candidate to have and be able to demonstrate the following skills;
- Diligence and attention to detail
- IT literate in use of word/ excel/ Outlook.
- Willingness to learn new skills and a flexible approach to work
- Ability to work under pressure and to time constraints
- Ability to be trained on a variety of skills if required
