Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their early development and learning. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on children's lives through engaging activities and personalised care. The Nursery Practitioner will work closely with colleagues to ensure high standards of childcare and education are maintained at all times.
Duties
- Plan, organise, and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote children’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
- Supervise children during playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods to ensure their safety and wellbeing
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming nursery environment in line with health and safety regulations
- Support children's individual needs by recognising their interests and developmental stages
- Assist with daily administrative tasks such as record keeping and updating children's progress files
- Contribute to the development of nursery policies and procedures to uphold quality standards
- Drive nursery vehicles when required for outings or transportation purposes
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a childcare or nursery setting is essential
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages
- Strong management and leadership skills to guide team members effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care or equivalent are preferred
- Childcare or nursery experience is highly desirable
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting children or attending external activities
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team whilst demonstrating leadership qualities
- Passionate about early childhood education with a caring and nurturing attitude
Pay: From £13.50 per hour
