Workshop Controller – Accident Repair Centre
Location: M&E Accident Repair Centre - 108 Cannock Street, Thurmaston, Leicester, LE49HR.
Salary: Starting from £37,500 depending on experience + Competitive Bonus Scheme (performance based)
Job Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday 8-5

The Role
As our Workshop Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our busy body shop, ensuring the smooth workflow of repairs, managing staff productivity, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. You will play a key role in team leadership, compliance with industry standards, and effective communication with customers and insurers.
Key Responsibilities
Workshop & Team Management:
- Lead and motivate a team of technicians
- Monitor workshop output
- Allocate jobs fairly, based on technician skill levels and availability.
- Ensure all necessary equipment and materials are available and used efficiently, reporting on usage.
- Ensure the workshop is kept clean and well-presented at all times.
Customer Service & Complaint Handling:
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing queries professionally.
- Handle customer complaints effectively, ensuring swift resolution and customer satisfaction.
- Carry out quality control on vehicles before customer handover.
Compliance & Auditing:
- Ensure adherence to BS 10125:2022 standards.
- Prepare and manage audits alongside compliance team.
- Maintain all required records and documentation for insurance, manufacturers, and company policies.
Technical & Administrative Duties:
- Use management systems to monitor job progress.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all repair processes.
- Assist in budget control, monitoring workshop expenses and improving efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
Experience in a Workshop Controller/Body shop Supervisor role.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good computer skills. Any familiarity with workshop management systems would be preferable.
- Experience handling audits, compliance, and industry standards (BS 10125, manufacturer approvals, etc.).
The right candidate must undergo a police vetting process before passing probation.
