Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly according to standard recipes and procedures
- Support cooking processes by following instructions from head chefs or senior kitchen staff
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces
- Ensure all food safety regulations are adhered to, including proper storage and handling of ingredients
- Prepare ingredients such as chopping vegetables, portioning meats, and assembling garnishes
- Support the team during busy service periods to ensure timely delivery of orders
- Restock supplies and organise ingredients to optimise workflow efficiency
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to create a safe working environment
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or a restaurant environment is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
- Basic culinary skills such as meal preparation and ingredient handling
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
