Residential Children's Home Team Leader (Full-Time)

We are looking for an experienced, compassionate, and dedicated Residential Children's Home Team Leader to join our therapeutic residential children's home on a full-time basis.
You will support young women (gender-inclusive) aged 8–18 with autism and complex emotional needs. Some of the young people may present with behaviours that challenge, including self-harm and suicidal ideation. We aim to provide a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where every young person feels valued, develops resilience, and gains the skills needed to thrive.
This role can be challenging, but it is also incredibly rewarding as you witness the positive progress and personal growth of the young people in your care.
Job Purpose
The Team Leader is responsible for leading and supporting a team of Residential Support Workers to deliver high-quality, child-centred care within a therapeutic residential setting. The post holder will ensure the safety, wellbeing, and development of children and young people while promoting positive outcomes through consistent care, effective leadership, and compliance with safeguarding and regulatory standards.
The Team Leader will act as a positive role model, providing guidance, supervision, and support to staff while helping to maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured home environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Lead, motivate, and support Residential Support Workers during each shift.
- Child-Centred Care: Build positive, trusting, and professional relationships with children and young people.
- Safeguarding: Safeguard children, young people and staff at all times.
- Care Planning: Implement and review individual care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments.
- Record Keeping: Complete daily logs, incident reports, medication records, and other documentation to a high standard.
- Health & Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment.Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation.
- Medication: Administer and record medication in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Behaviour Support: Support children who may display behaviours that challenge. Use therapeutic approaches and de-escalation techniques.
- Staff Supervision: Support supervision sessions where delegated.Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Shift Management: Lead shifts effectively.Allocate responsibilities throughout the shift.Respond appropriately during emergencies.

Essential Requirements
- You must have at least 2 years’ experience working with children and young people in a Children’s Home Residential setting.
- Experience supporting children and young people with autism, trauma, mental health needs, or behaviours that challenge.
- Hold a Level 3 / Level 4 with Children and Young People
- Have proven leadership skills
- A good understanding of safeguarding legislation and best practice.
- Strong written and IT skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
- A genuine commitment to supporting and empowering staff
- Ability to work full-time hours
