Experienced CNC Machinist – Permanent Day Shift
Location: Dudley
We are looking for experienced CNC Machinists to join our manufacturing team on a permanent day shift.
The successful candidates will have experience in CNC Milling and Boring, with the ability to set, program and operate CNC machinery. Experience with Heidenhain controls is preferred, although knowledge of Fanuc would also be beneficial.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Machinist looking to join a small, skilled team working within a precision subcontract manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting, programming and operating CNC milling machines and horizontal borers
- CNC milling and boring of precision components
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Working to specified tolerances and geometric tolerances
- Selecting and setting appropriate tooling and workholding
- Checking your own work using precision measuring equipment
- Ensuring components meet required quality and specification standards
- Working efficiently to meet production requirements and deadlines
- Supporting the wider team and undertaking other duties as required
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist
- Strong experience with medium/large CNC milling and boring
- Experience in CNC setting, programming and operating
- Heidenhain programming experience preferred
- Fanuc knowledge would be an advantage
- A good understanding of engineering drawings, including machining symbols, tolerances and geometric tolerances
- Experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and slip gauges
- Previous experience working within a subcontract manufacturing environment
- The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a small team
- A recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent proven, demonstrable workplace experience
The Role
You will work as part of a small, experienced team within a precision subcontract machining environment.
The role will involve working on CNC milling machines and horizontal boring machines, carrying out setting, programming, milling and boring operations to produce high-quality components to customer specifications.
You will need to be reliable, adaptable and willing to support the wider business by carrying out additional duties when required to meet production demands.
What We Are Looking For
We are particularly interested in candidates who are confident working with medium and large components, have strong CNC machining experience and can demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
This is a permanent day-shift position based in Dudley.
