Temporary position: Friday 18 September – Friday 2 October 2026
We are looking for a reliable, friendly and hardworking person to join our team at Chester House Guest House (on a temporary basis) to provide holiday cover for approximately two weeks.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking for short-term work in a friendly guest house environment, with live-in accommodation provided.
About the Guest House
We provide short-term and temporary accommodation to guests placed with us by the local authority.
The successful applicant should be comfortable working with a varied guest group and be able to maintain a professional, respectful and welcoming environment at all times.
This is a hospitality and accommodation role and does not involve providing personal care.
The Role
The role will involve a variety of general guest house duties, including:
- Cleaning and preparing guest bedrooms
- Cleaning communal areas
- Laundry and general housekeeping
- Assisting with breakfast
- Helping and communicating with guests
- Responding to guest requests
- General maintenance and practical tasks
- Helping with the day-to-day running of the guest house
- Maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment for all guests
The role is varied, and we are looking for someone who is reliable, practical, flexible and happy to get stuck in.
Dates & Pay
The temporary position will run from:
Friday 18 September 2026 – Friday 2 October 2026
Pay will be National Minimum Wage or above, depending on experience and suitability. Shifts are 8-17.00, including a one hour unpaid lunch break but there could be some flexibility for the right candidate.
There will also be night cover/sleep-in shifts, which are paid at £35 per night.
Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour
