Job Title: Children's Residential Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home (LD)

Salary: £37,000 – £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience & qualifications)

Hours: 40 hours per week (plus on-call duties and occasional shift cover)

The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to help lead our passionate team and support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home. This is a key role within the home, providing leadership, promoting high standards of care, and ensuring positive outcomes for the young people in our care.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager in all aspects of home management
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the care team
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding, and children’s home standards
- Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and daily documentation
- Promote a child-centred, trauma-informed approach to care
- Handle shift coordination, staff rotas, and participate in the on-call rota
- Build positive relationships with children, families, professionals, and external agencies
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for young people
- Support staff development and contribute to a positive team culture
Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – Essential
- Working towards or willingness to complete Level 5 in Leadership & Management – Required
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a children’s residential setting
- Experience in a senior or supervisory role within LD care – Essential
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and regulatory frameworks
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- A calm, resilient, and child-focused approach
- Full UK Driving Licence – Essential
