Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Mobility Repair Engineer to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining mobility equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and practical experience with various tools, demonstrating the ability to handle physically demanding tasks with precision and care. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of mobility equipment to identify faults or malfunctions
- Perform repairs and maintenance on a range of mobility devices, including wheelchairs, scooters, and other assistive technologies
- Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment
- Carry out heavy lifting tasks safely when handling large or cumbersome components
- Test repaired equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety standards are met
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and service reports
- Adhere to health and safety regulations during all repair activities
- Collaborate with team members to optimise repair processes and improve service delivery
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, etc.
- Experience with power tools including drills, grinders, and soldering equipment is desirable
- Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and repair procedures
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members effectively
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment
