Job Title: Sales Executive (Chester Branch)
Reporting to: Regional Branch Manager
Location: Chester Branch
Hours: 9am to 5:30pm Monday - Friday
The Role
The Sales Executive is responsible for supporting and driving sales growth across both retail and commercial markets by delivering excellent customer service, managing customer enquiries, preparing quotations and tenders, and converting opportunities into sales.
The role requires a proactive, customer-focused individual who can build and maintain strong relationships with customers while working collaboratively with colleagues across the business. The successful candidate will contribute to the efficient operation of the branch and support the achievement of sales and business objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties will include:
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer enquiries via telephone, email and face-to-face interactions.
- Prepare and submit quotations, estimates and tenders in line with customer requirements.
- Proactively contact prospective and existing customers to identify and develop sales opportunities.
- Convert quotations into confirmed orders and manage the sales process through to completion.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with new and existing customers to encourage repeat business.
- Maintain accurate customer records and activity within the company CRM system.
- Liaise with internal departments including Operations, Production and Transport to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Assist customers with product selection and provide technical and commercial guidance where required.
- Support branch operations and contribute to achieving individual and branch sales targets.
- Operate a forklift truck when required (training provided where necessary).
- Maintain a professional and positive representation of the company at all times.
- Undertake any other duties reasonably requested by management in support of business needs.
Person Specification
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a sales, customer service or business support role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to build rapport and develop long-term customer relationships.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong computer literacy, including experience using Microsoft Office applications.
- Resilient, proactive and results-focused approach.
- Full UK driving licence and access to own transport due to branch location.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience within a trade, construction, manufacturing or building products environment.
- Experience using CRM systems.
- Previous B2B sales experience.
- Forklift truck experience or willingness to undertake training.
