We are seeking 3 reliable and hardworking Self Employed General Building Labourers to support in a construction project in Duffryn, Newport. The successful candidates will assist skilled tradespeople, handle basic site tasks, and contribute to the efficient progress of building operations. This role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience within the construction industry while working in a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Assist with loading and unloading materials, tools, and equipment on-site
- Prepare work areas by clearing debris and setting up safety barriers
- Support tradespeople such as carpenters, electricians, and plumbers with their tasks
- Mix and apply basic materials such as cement or mortar under supervision
- Carry out general site cleaning and organisation to maintain a safe working environment
- Assist with the transportation of materials around the site using manual handling techniques
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to ensure a secure workplace
Requirements
- A valid CSCS card
- Previous experience in construction or labouring roles is advantageous but not essential
- Good physical fitness with the ability to perform manual tasks for extended periods
- Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions carefully
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures on construction sites
- Must be punctual, dependable, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety and quality
