Role Overview:
This is a full time, permanent field position. The primary responsibility of the Domestic & Commercial Plumbers is to maintain, service, and install heating and hot water systems across both commercial and domestic properties. The role is heavily focused on both domestic & commercial environments, particularly schools and similar facilities with the expectation to respond promptly to system faults, ensure safe operation, and deliver high‑quality customer service.
You’ll represent Vital Synergy ensuring systems run smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities.
- Carry out safe working practices, looking after personal safety and the safety on site for the client and the business.
- Install, service, maintain, and repair domestic & commercial plumbing and pipework systems across a range of live environments.
- Carry out reactive repairs efficiently to minimise system downtime and disruption to clients.
- Diagnose faults across pipework, plant rooms, and associated mechanical systems.
- Inspect plumbing installations to identify defects, risks, or compliance issues.
- Repair, replace, and modify pipework, valves, fixtures, and mechanical components.
- Pressure test systems, identify leaks, and ensure all works meet relevant standards and regulations.
- Install and commission domestic & commercial plumbing systems, including strip‑down, alterations, and reassembly.
- Work with a range of systems and technologies, including:
- High end domestic heating & hot water systems
- High end bathroom upgrades and renovations
- Commercial heating & hot water systems
- Plant room pipework
- Underfloor Heating systems (UFH)
- Low‑carbon and renewable technologies (including ASHP & GSHP where applicable)
- Provide technical guidance to clients on system operation, maintenance, and best practice.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, supervisors, and project teams to support efficient project delivery.
- Complete and maintain all required Health & Safety documentation, including Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, and COSHH.
Experience & Qualifications
- Must have served a recognised Apprenticeship & qualification (NVQ L2/L3) inc. G3 Regs
- Domestic & Commercial gas qualifications desirable but not essential.
- CSCS card (preferred)
- Proven experience working on both domestic & commercial systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of heating & hot water systems.
- Assemble components and use power tools safely and effectively.
- Plumbing experience.
- Proficient with basic calculations and measurements.
- Familiarity with relevant hand tools and safe working practices.
- Valid UK driving licence
- Must pass an Enhanced DBS check prior to employment.
- Experience working in school environments or similar commercial settings.
- Knowledge of renewable heating technologies (ASHP/GSHP – Preferred)
- Ability to manage reactive workloads independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and customer‑service skills.
