We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated APPRENTICE to join our team at Denton Village Surgery.
A small, friendly practice situated in rural South Northants, between Northampton and Bedford but also within easy travelling distance of Milton Keynes and Wellingborough. We often train apprentices and they do very well in their progression with us. We have supported many staff through their Dispensing NVQ qualifications over the years.
The successful candidate will need to have accurate attention to detail and be IT literate. Good communication skills and maturity is also important. There are great opportunities to develop and progress here. Good customer service and telephone skills are essential to be able to deal with patients in a courteous and confidential manner. You must be keen to learn and be adaptable to the different work required and have a clean and tidy appearance. This role is supported by a professional NVQ L2 qualification.
Working as part of our busy Dispensing team, duties include:
· Meeting and greeting patients
· Answering the telephone
· Assist with issuing patient medication and prescription handling
· Accurately picking, labelling and bagging medication
· Updating database records
· Dealing with requests or messages for the doctors and nurses
· Signposting patients to appropriate services
· Ordering and receiving medication stock
· Maintaining patient confidentiality
· Any other general admin duties as required (e.g. dealing with online repeat medication requests).
Due to the location of the surgery, having a reliable source of transport is essential. Free parking is available.

Hours: 30-35 hours per week
Suitable apprentices will be able to work FLEXIBLY between the hours of 07:30 and 18:30 Monday to Friday.
