The role of HGV/Plant Mechanic is vital in helping to keep the trucks running and plant operating. The efficient running of the trucks and machinery are key to the success of the team by keeping the customers happy.
Working along with our existing mechanic, we have a small workshop, vehicle pit and in house tools and have a role for a skilled person to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for working with trucks and machines.
The normal duties are fairly standard such as:
- Conducting routine maintenance on vehicles such as oil changes and repairs
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on a variety of vehicles
- Perform vehicle inspections to identify potential problems
- Use diagnostic skills to troubleshoot vehicle problems
- Keep accurate records of work performed and parts used
Experience Required:
- Experience as a Mechanic or similar role
- Knowledge of vehicle diagnostic methods
- Ability to handle various tools (e.g., wrenches, jacks, screwdrivers)
- Strong attention to detail
Nice-to-have:
- Formal training in automotive technology or related field
- Experience working with skip trucks and machinery
