Overview

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on heavy vehicles such as HGVs, to identify mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues.
- Perform repairs using hand tools, power tools, welding, fabrication, soldering, and schematics interpretation to restore equipment functionality efficiently.
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, brake adjustments, tire replacements, and system checks to prevent breakdowns.
- Fabricate or modify parts as needed for custom repairs or upgrades using welding and assembly skills.
- Repair and maintain electrical systems within vehicles and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Use schematics to troubleshoot complex electrical or mechanical faults accurately.
- Support equipment repair tasks involving or other heavy machinery to ensure continuous operation in demanding environments.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities for accountability and compliance purposes.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in repairing heavy vehicles and equipment.
- Proficiency in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering for custom modifications or repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics for electrical systems and mechanical components.
- Electrical experience with troubleshooting wiring issues within vehicles or machinery.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and equipment repair tools safely and effectively.
- Experience with assembly processes for vehicle parts or machinery upgrades.
- Excellent customer service skills when interacting with team members or external clients regarding repairs or technical support.
- Capable of performing heavy lifting safely while adhering to health and safety regulations.
