At an exciting phase of growth and development, we are currently looking to appoint an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk.
Position Overview
This role will be responsible for processing purchase invoices in a timely and accurate manner and preparing batches ready for payment according to set time lines.
An experienced purchase ledger clerk, reporting to the Accounts Manager, you will be required to perform all purchase ledger related tasks required by the manager and outlined below.
The Role
Your daily duties will include:
- Dealing with all purchase invoices and entering them onto the accounts system with correct codes
- Liaising with other departments and suppliers to rectify purchase queries
- Matching invoices to orders and delivery notes
- General photocopying and filing of accounts paperwork
- Maintaining the creditor’s ledger
- Ad-hoc assistance with credit control
- Assistance in completing the company's monthly payroll following successful completion of probationary period
- Any ad-hoc admin duties that may arise
The Person
Skills/Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- At least 2 years' experience working within a Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable team.
- Experience using Sage or a similar accounting software package.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Strong numerical and data entry skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Confidence in challenging and querying information when necessary.
Hours of work
Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 5pm.
