The Role
As a Chef/Sous Chef at The White Hart, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality food in a busy, welcoming pub environment. Responsibilities include:
- Supporting and Reporting to the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations
- Preparing and cooking dishes to a high standard during busy services-both on solo shifts and with a team
- Maintaining excellent food quality, consistency and presentation
- Ensuring all hygiene, health & safety and food safety standards are met
- Assisting with prep, stock control and kitchen organisation
- Working collaboratively as part of a small close-knit kitchen team
- Supporting with food ordering and deliveries with training and guidance
What We’re Looking For
- A motivated and enthusiastic chef with a genuine passion for food and standards
- Experience in a professional kitchen (pub or restaurant experience ideal
- Ability to work calmly and efficiently during busy services
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Reliable to lead or run a shift in the absence of the Head Chef
- Keen to support the training of other team members
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop
- A reliable team player with good communication skills
- Commitment to high standards of cleanliness and food safety and understanding of EHO & Audit or Checklist procedures (daily)
