The Governing Bodies of Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Helyg and Ysgol Gymraeg Tredegar are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and highly effective Deputy Headteacher to join our leadership team through a secondment opportunity.
This is a unique and rewarding role for an ambitious leader who is passionate about Welsh-medium education, inclusion and improving outcomes for all learners. Working across both schools, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting school improvement, developing teaching and learning, and ensuring the highest standards of wellbeing and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:

Support the Headteacher in the strategic leadership and management of both schools.
- Lead and promote high-quality teaching and learning across both settings.
- Act as the school's Additional Learning Needs Co-ordinator (ALNCo), ensuring effective identification, provision and support for pupils with additional learning needs.
- Work closely with staff, families and external agencies to secure positive outcomes for all learners.
- Lead on inclusion, wellbeing and equity across both schools.
- Contribute to self-evaluation, school improvement planning and professional learning.
- Support safeguarding and promote a culture where every child feels safe, valued and successful.
About the Role
This is a non-teaching Deputy Headteacher position, allowing the successful candidate dedicated time to lead, support staff and drive strategic improvement across both schools.
The role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced middle leader, ALNCo or current senior leader seeking to broaden their leadership experience within a supportive and collaborative environment.
