Our approach combines high quality early years education with child led play, outdoor exploration and enriching experiences, including Forest School, Yoga and Mindfulness, Spanish, Baking and Creative Arts.
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join our friendly team. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young children during the most important years of their development.
The role
As an Early Years Practitioner, you will help create a safe, stimulating and inspiring environment where children feel secure, confident and excited to learn.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting children’s learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities based on children’s interests and individual needs.
- Encouraging learning through play, exploration and meaningful everyday experiences.
- Supporting children’s emotional, social, physical and communication development.
- Building warm, positive and secure relationships with children.
- Observing children’s progress and contributing to assessments and next steps.
- Developing positive and professional relationships with parents and carers.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of care and education.
- Maintaining a safe, welcoming and stimulating learning environment.
- Supporting outdoor learning and Forest School activities.
- Taking part in enrichment experiences such as yoga, mindfulness, Spanish, baking and creative arts.
- Following all safeguarding, health and safety, equality and preschool policies and procedures.
About you
We would love to hear from you if you:
- Are warm, caring, patient and genuinely passionate about working with young children.
- Have experience working within a preschool, nursery or other early years environment.
- Have a good understanding of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Can recognise and respond to children’s individual interests, abilities and support needs.
- Communicate confidently and professionally with children, families and colleagues.
- Enjoy working as part of a supportive and committed team.
- Are reliable, reflective and willing to continue developing professionally.
Qualifications and requirements
- A recognised Level 3 Early Years or childcare qualification is preferred.
- Previous experience within an early years setting is desirable.
- A good standard of spoken and written English is required.
- Paediatric First Aid training would be advantageous, although training may be provided.
- The successful applicant will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check and provide satisfactory references.
- A sound understanding of safeguarding responsibilities is essential.
