Reception Teaching Assistants (EYFS) | Liverpool
Now Education is recruiting on behalf of several friendly and inclusive mainstream primary schools across the Liverpool area, who are looking to appoint Reception Teaching Assistants for long-term opportunities starting in September and October 2026.
These rewarding positions involve supporting children in Reception, including pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, helping them make a positive start to school life. You'll play a key role in developing children's confidence, communication, independence and early learning skills during one of the most important stages of their education.
Your Role Will Include:
- Supporting Reception pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small groups and within the wider classroom.
- Helping children settle into school routines and build positive relationships.
- Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties and developmental delays.
- Delivering engaging, play-based learning activities in line with the EYFS Framework.
- Encouraging early literacy, phonics, numeracy, communication and social development.
- Using positive behaviour management strategies to support emotional regulation and engagement.
- Working closely with class teachers, SENDCOs and parents to provide consistent support.
- Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued.

- Have previous experience supporting children within a school, nursery or Early Years setting.
- Have experience working with children with SEND (desirable).
- Are caring, patient and enthusiastic about supporting young children.
- Can build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Are passionate about giving every child the very best start to their education.
