Hours: Monday to Thursday 9:30- 16:00 & Friday 9:30-14:00
Start Date: ASAP
Hourly rate: £12.75 per hour
Are you friendly, reliable, and enjoy working in a busy, child-focused environment? Bonnington House Nursery is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our warm and welcoming team! The Nursery is located in Trinity, Edinburgh, and offers full day care for up to 105 children from 3 months to 5 years.
About the Role: As our Kitchen Assistant, you'll play an important role in creating a positive mealtime experience for our children. You'll help prepare and serve fresh, nutritious meals and snacks that support their health, growth, and development, while ensuring individual dietary needs and allergies are carefully catered for. Alongside meal preparation, you'll help keep our kitchen clean, organised, and safe, following all food hygiene and health and safety standards.
Assisting with the preparation of snacks and meals
Washing dishes and maintaining a clean, hygienic kitchen
Keeping kitchen surfaces and equipment clean and sanitised
Helping to receive and store deliveries safely and correctly
Ensuring all food safety and hygiene regulations are followed
Assisting with the setup and clearing away of snack and mealtimes
Communicating effectively with nursery staff and management
