Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day management of the children's home
- Ensure high-quality, child-centred care that promotes positive outcomes
- Develop and review individual care plans
- Champion safeguarding and ensure children's voices remain central to decision-making
- Maintain compliance with Children's Homes Regulations, Ofsted requirements and quality standards
- Complete and monitor Regulation 44 actions
- Lead, supervise and develop the staff team
- Manage recruitment, supervision, appraisals, rotas and the on-call service
- Manage budgets and resources effectively
- Ensure health and safety standards are maintained throughout the home
Essential Requirements
- Previous leadership experience within a Children's Residential Home
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or working towards)
- Strong knowledge of:
- Children's Homes Regulations
- The Children Act
- Safeguarding and Child Protection
- Child development and childcare theory
- Experience leading, supervising and developing staff
- Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
- Calm, resilient, approachable and able to make sound decisions under pressure
- Full UK Driving Licence
- First Aid qualification or other relevant transferable skills desirable
Working Hours
- 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday)
- Overtime available
