Team Leader – Therapeutic Children’s Home
Location: Southend
Salary: £31,345 to £33,584 depending on experience and qualifications
Hours: Must be available to work days, evenings, night wakes and sleep-ins

We’re seeking an inspiring and resilient Team Leader to help guide our dedicated team and ensure the highest standards of care for the children who call our home theirs. This is a role for someone who leads by example, someone who can balance compassion with clarity, and who understands the power of trauma-informed practice in transforming children’s lives.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Providing day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support to the team
- Ensuring consistent, trauma-informed care that promotes safety, stability, and emotional wellbeing
- Overseeing daily routines, shift planning, and delegation of tasks
- Supporting adults through reflective supervision, coaching, and modelling best practice
- Contributing to care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies
- Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, regulatory standards, and organisational policies
- Building strong, trusting relationships with children and acting as a positive role model
- Supporting the Registered Manager with audits, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives
What We’re Looking For
- Experience of working in a children’s residential setting
- A calm, confident, and reflective leadership style
- Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and support others
- A commitment to trauma-informed, child-centred practice
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- A thorough understanding of safeguarding and regulatory requirements
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, sleep-ins and nights
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards Level 4
