We are looking for a confident and resilient Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day to day running of our children’s home.
Our young people have experienced trauma, adverse childhood experiences and significant challenges. You will help provide a safe, stable and supportive environment where young people can build trust and achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Registered Manager with the day-to-day management and running of the home.
- Assist with managerial duties including staff interviews, supervisions and staff development.
- Complete administrative tasks, records and other management duties as required.
- Lead and support the staff team to provide high-quality care.
- Maintain strong safeguarding and child protection standards.
- Respond confidently and appropriately to crises, incidents and challenging situations.
- Participate in the on-call rota, providing support and guidance to staff when required.
- Ensure care plans, risk assessments and behaviour management plans are followed.
- Work alongside social workers, families and other professionals.
About You
We are looking for someone who is calm under pressure, confident in decision-making and passionate about supporting vulnerable young people.
Desirable:
- Experience in a leadership role with in a residential childcare setting or a similar field.
- Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge.
- Knowledge and experience of managing crises.
- Experience supporting young people who have experienced trauma or challenging life experiences.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
Enhanced DBS and two satisfactory references required.
