Security Manager – Birmingham Events & Venue Operations
£20.00 per hour | 30+ Hours Per Week | Major Event Venue
Bridgegate Security is recruiting an experienced Security Manager to oversee operations at one of Birmingham’s most exciting new large scale event venues.
This is a senior operational role within a flagship venue that will host major events throughout the year, including live entertainment, sporting events, club nights, private events, and large scale public gatherings.
We are looking for a strong leader with proven experience managing large teams within the security, nightlife, events, or licensed hospitality sectors. This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping and leading a major security operation from the outset.
The Role
You will be responsible for the overall management of venue security operations, ensuring high standards of safety, professionalism, compliance, and customer experience across all events.
The operation will involve managing a large team of Deputy Managers, Door Supervisors, CCTV Operators, and Event Security personnel, requiring a confident and highly organised individual capable of leading from the front.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing all security operations across the venue
- Managing large-scale security deployments and event staffing
- Leading and supporting a team of approximately 60+ security personnel
- Working closely with venue management and event organisers
- Maintaining compliance with venue policies, licensing requirements, and company procedures
- Managing incident response, investigations, and reporting
- Driving standards, accountability, and professionalism across the operation
- Assisting with recruitment, development, and performance management of staff
- Acting as a key point of contact for external agencies where required
What We’re Looking For
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor licence (essential)
- Significant experience within venue, nightlife, events, or large-scale security operations
- Previous experience managing large teams
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and decision-making ability
- Professional, credible, and confident working with clients and stakeholders
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure environments
- Strong understanding of incident management and operational planning
