The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take full ownership of the month-end accounting cycle across four entities (three UK and one US) ensuring financial information is accurate, insightful, and delivered on time. You'll be a key player in a small, dynamic finance team where your work genuinely matters, and your impact is visible from day one.
This isn't a role for someone who wants to be told what to do. We're looking for a self-starter who can hit the ground running and will challenge the status quo, identify inefficiencies, and build better processes someone who takes pride in the quality of their output and doesn't need hand-holding to deliver.
What You'll Be Doing
- Owning the month-end close process and producing management accounts across four entities
- Preparing robust balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining reporting deadlines
- Supporting cashflow forecasting and credit control activities
- Processing and reconciling bank transactions, credit cards, and expense claims
- Supporting UK and US payroll within Xero payroll and expense modules
- Identifying and implementing automation and process improvement opportunities
- Supporting the build of financial data rooms for fundraising activities
- Collaborating closely with the Financial Controller and Senior Finance Associate
What We're Looking For
- ACCA, ACA, or CIMA qualified
- Demonstrable experience in a management accounts or similar finance role
- Proven track record of owning month-end close to set deadlines
- Experience producing reconciliation schedules across multiple entities
- Exposure to multi-currency and multi-jurisdictional accounting (UK/US desirable)
- Familiarity with Xero or similar cloud-based finance systems
- High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a proactive mindset
- Clear communicator who can partner effectively with non-finance stakeholders
