We’re an award-winning educational charity and museum, which includes our mouth-watering on-site café. We’re looking for hard-working, cheerful people with big smiles to join our catering team!
The successful candidates will be a member of the Café front-of-house team, ensuring that our visitors experience the best service possible.
This is a permanent contract based of 5 hours per week - specifically weekends. You will have the opportunity to pick up extra shifts during the school holidays and when annual leave cover is needed.

Purpose of the Role:
Support the café and catering services at Eureka! by preparing and serving food, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and delivering excellent customer service to visitors, staff, and event guests.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Food Preparation
- Greet and assist visitors in a friendly, professional manner.
- Prepare and serve food and drinks in the café and deli area.
- Help set up/clear away for events.
- Keep counters, fridges, and vending machines stocked and tidy.
Cleanliness & Safety
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic café and kitchen environment.
- Wash dishes (by hand or machine) and follow cleaning schedules.
- Follow food hygiene rules and remove any out-of-date stock.
- Report any hazards, broken equipment, or safety concerns.
Events & Corporate Catering
- Set up and clear catering areas for meetings and events.
- Ensure food is well-presented, correctly labelled, and meets dietary requirements.
Cash Handling & Sales
- Operate tills accurately and follow cash handling procedures.
- Promote counter sales and help meet sales targets.
Health, Safety & Security
- Follow emergency, fire, and security procedures.
- Report accidents and unsafe practices immediately.
- Use equipment safely and complete required training (e.g., food hygiene).
General
- Work flexibly, including weekends, bank holidays, and school holidays.
- Support other Front of House areas when needed.
- Attend training sessions and team meetings.
