Job Description
We’re looking for a Governance, Risk and Controls Assurance Senior Manager to join our Institutional Retirement COO team. This is a key leadership role where you’ll shape and deliver assurance activity within the First Line, strengthening the control environment and helping the business manage risk effectively. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you’ll provide insight, challenge and direction while driving consistency, innovation and high standards across governance and control practices.
This is a great opportunity to influence how assurance is delivered, embed best practice and lead a team in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
What you'll be doing:

Leading and delivering assurance activities to enhance the control environment and manage risk effectively

Acting as a senior point of contact for Governance, Risk and Controls across the First Line

Assessing assurance coverage across the three lines of defence and identifying areas requiring further review

Developing and embedding assurance methodologies aligned to internal policies and industry best practice

Leading control programmes and evaluating the effectiveness of existing controls to drive continuous improvement
-
Designing and implementing technology-enabled and data-driven approaches to control testing

Producing assurance reporting and supporting stakeholder engagement to drive timely issue resolution

Leading, developing and motivating a team to deliver against strategic objectives and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability
Who we're looking for:

Strong experience within governance, risk and controls, within financial services
-
Knowledge of control frameworks such as COSO and understanding of non-financial risk areas

Experience designing and implementing assurance frameworks within a First Line environment

Proven ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders across complex organisations
-
Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to inform decisions and prioritise activity

Experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing teams
-
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and confidently

Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
