Job Summary
The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist supports the implementation and continuous improvement of environmental, health, safety, and process safety systems. Working closely with site leadership, you will promote a safe, compliant, and sustainable workplace while ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant EHS regulations.
Office-based, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm
Fixed-term contract for 6 months
Salary: TBC based on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure site compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) legislation and act as the UK legal representative for EHS matters.
- Support the Plant Manager in maintaining relationships with regulators, local communities, and external stakeholders.
- Implement and monitor EHS programs, performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate EHS training, occupational health surveillance, and safety meetings.
- Conduct EHS audits, risk assessments, and support site inspections by regulatory authorities.
- Assist with obtaining, maintaining, and reporting on operating permits and regulatory requirements.
- Work with regional EHS teams to manage site impact assessments and permit compliance.
- Integrate company EHS policies and procedures into site operations and provide EHS guidance across departments and locations.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience in an EHS Specialist role is essential
- Fluent English (written and spoken) is required
- Strong understanding of HSE legislation and compliance requirements
