We are currently seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee and coordinate all payroll functions for our portfolio of small businesses.
The ideal candidate will have extensive practice experience and a strong understanding of payroll processes, including the CIS scheme. You will be the sole payroll point of contact within our small accounts team, requiring you to be self-motivated and confident in managing your own workload, deadlines, and client queries.
Key Duties:
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing using BrightPay, Engager, and TaxCalc.
- Ensure accurate salary calculations, deductions, and benefits administration.
- Oversee data entry for employee hours and leave.
- Maintain payroll records in Xero, QuickBooks, or similar software.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare reports for review.
- Analyse data for discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Assist with HMRC issues and payroll amendments.
- Set up and run PAYE schemes for small to medium-sized limited companies.
Required Experience:
- Proven payroll management experience within an accountancy practice.
- Familiarity with BrightPay or other PAYE platforms.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Strong analytical skills for payroll data and reporting.
- Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail.
