The role
This is a hands-on role covering the full breadth of our customer operations alongside a clear commercial dimension. Responsible for owning the day-to-day running of customer service, order processing, and B2B account support. Over time as you develop product knowledge and relationship confidence, we expect this role to evolve over approximately a two-year period toward full account management and new business development in sectors such as facilities management, social housing, and NHS estates, and help build the infrastructure that makes Nothing But Padlocks the go-to partner for organisations managing physical security at scale..
The role sits at the heart of a small, ambitious team, working directly with the Operations Manager and having real visibility across every part of the business.
The role will include:
- Responding promptly and confidently to customer enquiries across phone, email, and live chat, covering everything from order status through to product specification and technical guidance.
- Effectively managing stock, purchasing and supplier relationships, proactively identifying fulfilment risks (stock gaps, lead time issues, carrier delays) and work with customers to agree practical solutions such as substitutions, split shipments or revised delivery dates.
- Preparing quotations for larger B2B orders and project work, covering product specification, pricing, lead times, and delivery, following up on quotations.
- Building and maintaining product and process knowledge resources, keeping information accurate and easy to access for the whole team.
- Supporting the adoption of tools and workflows that improve efficiency and service quality, including AI-assisted knowledge tools where appropriate.
- Contributing insight on customer needs, recurring issues, and opportunities to improve conversion and retention.
