Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Tester to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting MOT tests in accordance with legal standards, ensuring vehicles meet required safety and environmental regulations. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with current legislation and safety standards.
- Use hand tools and power tools to carry out minor repairs or adjustments as necessary to facilitate testing.
- Record test results accurately and provide clear explanations of findings to customers.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the testing bay and workshop area.
- Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained according to manufacturer specifications.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines during all activities, including heavy lifting when handling vehicle parts or equipment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar vehicle inspection role.
- Mechanical knowledge of various vehicle systems and components.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, including manoeuvring vehicle parts or equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
- Full UK driving licence is essential.
- Knowledge of current MOT legislation and testing procedures is highly desirable.
