We are opening a new solo children's home in North Manchester for a young person subject to a Deprivation of Liberty order, and we are looking for a Registered Manager to lead it from registration onwards. This is a genuine opportunity to open and shape a home from day one, with the backing of an established provider group that already runs this type of placement.
We are keeping this role open to a range of backgrounds. You might come from residential childcare management, or from social work, or from a strong supervisory or deputy role that you are ready to step up from. What matters most is judgement, leadership, and the ability to hold a safe, therapeutic environment for one child with complex needs.
The role
Lead the home day to day, hold the Ofsted registration as Registered Manager, build and develop the staff team, and set the standard of safe, trauma-informed care for a single young person under a court-ordered deprivation of liberty. You will work closely with the courts, the child's IRO and the placing authority, with strong deputy support around you.
About you
We are open on specialism. Direct experience of DoL or complex, high-risk placements is ideal, but we will also consider people who are new to DoL and confident they can work within that framework. Above all we want someone comfortable with restrictive-practice governance, safeguarding and managing serious incidents.
To be registered with Ofsted as a Registered Manager you will need, or be working toward, the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, along with relevant experience of residential childcare and of supervising or managing others. What we offer
A competitive salary of £55,000 to £70,000, good benefits, and a real growth path. This is the first of several homes we are opening, so there is scope to grow into a senior operational role as the group expands.
