We are seeking a dedicated Ground Worker to support various landscaping, construction, and maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in horticulture, gardening, and construction activities, with the ability to operate a range of tools and machinery. Responsibilities
- Assisting with landscape maintenance tasks including planting, pruning, and lawn care
- Operating hand tools such as spades, rakes, and shovels to prepare sites and carry out groundwork
- Using power tools and machinery including excavators, trimmers, and irrigation systems for various projects
- Supporting construction activities by preparing sites, laying foundations, or installing fixtures
- Maintaining equipment through basic repairs and routine servicing
- Ensuring work areas are safe, clean, and organised at all times
- Assisting with the installation and upkeep of irrigation systems
- Supporting team members with specialised tasks requiring mechanical knowledge or horticultural expertise
Skills
- Experience in landscape maintenance, gardening or horticulture is highly desirable
- Familiarity with construction activities and use of hand tools or power tools
- Mechanical knowledge related to machinery such as excavators or irrigation systems
- Ability to operate or learn how to operate heavy machinery safely
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in maintaining work areas and equipment
- Good physical fitness with the ability to carry out manual labour for extended periods
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience in construction or groundskeeping is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
