We are looking for an experienced and capable Vehicle Technician to join our team at Billingborough Cars & Commercials.
We are a busy, family run independent garage with a strong local reputation for quality workmanship and customer care.
We are looking for a good all round technician who is confident carrying out larger mechanical jobs as well as diagnostics and fault finding.
This is not just a servicing role. We need someone who is comfortable getting stuck into more involved work and who has the experience and knowledge to see a job through properly.
You will be joining a friendly and supportive team in a modern workshop where we invest in good equipment, training and our staff.
And importantly, you will work Monday to Friday with no weekends.
What We Are Looking For
Ideally, you will be Level 3 qualified in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent, with good experience working in a busy garage environment.
You should be confident with:
Cambelts and timing belt replacements
Clutches and flywheels
Brakes, suspension and steering
Servicing and general repairs
Mechanical and electrical fault finding
Vehicle diagnostics
Using diagnostic equipment, fault codes and live data
Carrying out more involved mechanical repairs from start to finish
We want someone who can think for themselves, diagnose faults properly and is equally happy carrying out a clutch or cambelt as they are investigating a warning light or running issue.
You should also have:
At least 3 years of workshop experience
A full UK driving licence
Good attention to detail
Pride in the quality of your work
The ability to work independently when required
A good attitude and willingness to work as part of the team
An MOT Tester qualification would be an advantage, but it is not essential. Training can be provided for the right person.
What You Will Be Doing
Your work will be varied and will include:
Servicing and general vehicle maintenance
Cambelts and timing belt replacements
Clutches and flywheels
Brakes, suspension and steering repairs
More involved mechanical repairs
Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
Using diagnostic equipment to identify and investigate problems
Completing vehicle health checks
Carrying out MOT tests if qualified
Identifying additional work required and recording findings clearly
Working with the rest of the team on more difficult jobs and faults
Keeping your work area clean, organised and safe
We work on a wide range of vehicles, so no two days are exactly the same.
