We are expanding our fabrication team and are currently seeking an experienced TIG / MIG Fabricator Welder to join our manufacturing team.
The ideal candidate will be a strong TIG welder who is also confident with MIG welding, with experience working across both stainless steel and mild steel.
This is a hands-on fabrication role suited to someone who can work accurately from engineering drawings and produce high-quality fabricated assemblies with minimal supervision.
Key Duties
- TIG welding stainless steel to a high standard
- MIG welding mild steel components and assemblies
- Fabrication of both stainless steel and mild steel products from engineering drawings
- Working with sheet, plate, tube, box section and structural sections
- Cutting, drilling, grinding, forming and general material preparation
- Measuring, marking out, fitting and assembling fabricated components
- Polishing, dressing and finishing stainless steel where required
- Producing clean, accurate welds with minimal finishing
- Working to specified dimensions and tolerances
- Carrying out basic dimensional and visual quality checks
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
Requirements
- Strong TIG welding ability, particularly on stainless steel
- Good MIG welding experience
- Experience fabricating both stainless steel and mild steel
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings
- Good measuring, marking-out and fitting skills
- Experience using standard fabrication workshop equipment
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work
Experience with architectural metalwork, handrails, balustrades, sheet metal or bespoke fabricated assemblies would be advantageous.
