Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diagnostic Sonographer at Band 6 equivalent to join our dynamic medical imaging team. In this vital role, you will perform advanced ultrasound examinations, including MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) and CT (Computed Tomography) scans, to assist in diagnosing a wide range of medical conditions. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive ultrasound examinations across various modalities, including MRI and CT scans, ensuring accurate and detailed imaging for diagnostic purposes
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process clearly, addressing concerns, and ensuring their comfort throughout the examination
- Operate and maintain advanced imaging equipment with precision, adhering to safety protocols and technical standards
- Collaborate closely with radiologists and medical teams to interpret imaging results accurately and efficiently
- Maintain meticulous records of procedures performed, patient information, and equipment maintenance logs
- Provide exceptional patient care by demonstrating empathy, clear communication, and professionalism at all times
- Assist in training junior staff or students, sharing expertise in medical imaging techniques and patient handling
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Diagnostic Sonographer with proficiency in MRI, CT, and general ultrasound procedures
- Strong understanding of medical imaging principles, safety standards, and patient care protocols
- Excellent IT skills for operating imaging software and maintaining accurate digital records
- Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with patients, colleagues, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Relevant professional registration or accreditation in diagnostic radiography or sonography (e.g., HCPC registration)
- Knowledge of current healthcare regulations and best practices in medical imaging
