JOB SUMMARY
The Role: Production Operator – Skilled
Lesters, the large packaging specialists, manufacture corrugated cardboard into boxes and cartons, die-cutting, slotting, gluing and stitching using automated inline processes. We are looking for a Production Operative to join our twilight crew to facilitate further growth.
This is a cross over shift so working hours can be agreed to suit the right candidate from midday to late evening.
Key duties
- Set machinery, feed and run materials and stack pallets
- Monitor jobs to maintain high-quality standards
- Work efficiently to achieve budgeted targets of production uptime
- Operate the SFDU
- Resolve or report basic running issues quickly and proactively.
- Communicate any issues or improvements to your Team Leader so we can continuously improve efficiency and quality.
- Safely undertake manual handling of materials and equipment, storing stereos and tools in the correct location
- Proactively and appropriately and dispose of waste materials to maintain excellent levels of housekeeping
- Complete basic preventative maintenance and cleaning schedules i.e. cleaning, greasing
- Any other duties that are within your capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have sufficient experience of working within a production environment operating and setting. Previous experience of working within the cardboard industry is desirable.

- Industry leading pay banding, with rates set based on experience plus quarterly bonus.
- This is a cross over shift so working hours can be agreed to suit the right candidate for work life balance but as an example, could be 12pm to 8pm, 2pm to 10pm.
