We Offer:
Starting salary of £16,770 per annum (£8.60 per hour based on 37.5 hours per week).
A planned 36-month apprenticeship, subject to the training provider’s programme and assessment requirements.
Protected apprenticeship learning time and structured workplace coaching.
A Level 3 engineering apprenticeship with staged competence development.
Planned experience across Warehouse, Projects, Design/Engineering, Quality/EHS and Service/installation.
An intended route into a permanent Mechanical Assembly Engineer role, subject to successful completion, demonstrated competence, performance and business need.

Reporting to the Workshop / Manufacturing Leader, the Mechanical Assembly Engineer Apprentice will learn to assemble, inspect, test, fault-find and improve standard and bespoke engineered products safely and to defined standards. This workshop-based role is located onsite in Nottingham and includes support from an experienced Mechanical Assembly Engineer as workplace mentor.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
Learning to read and interpret engineering drawings, bills of materials, job packs and approved work instructions.
Checking components, fixings and materials before safely using authorised hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment.
Preparing and assembling brackets, guards, frames, conveyors, mechanical sub-assemblies and customer-specific equipment.
Completing visual, dimensional and completeness checks, recording results accurately and escalating missing or non-conforming parts.
Supporting functional testing, basic fault-finding, 5S and continuous improvement within your level of competence.
Completing provider learning, coaching, progress reviews and portfolio evidence while gaining cross-functional experience through planned rotations.
The essential requirements of the job include:
A standard of English and mathematics that meets the apprenticeship training provider’s entry requirements.
Evidence of interest or achievement in design, engineering, technology, science, practical subjects or equivalent experience.
A genuine interest in practical engineering, manufacturing, mechanical systems and how products are built.
The ability to work carefully with tools and components and to follow safety instructions, PPE requirements and approved working practices.
Commitment to reliable attendance and completion of both workplace and training provider learning.
