Responsibilities
- Measure clients accurately to determine necessary alterations and customizations
- Perform sewing, hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and other garment adjustments with precision
- Inspect finished garments to ensure quality standards are met and repairs are flawless
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide expert advice on alterations
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure all tools and equipment are properly cared for
- Keep detailed records of each alteration job for quality control and future reference
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an alteration tailor with a strong portfolio of completed projects
- Expert knowledge of sewing techniques, fabrics, and garment construction
- Ability to read and interpret clothing patterns and customer instructions accurately
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on precision and craftsmanship
- Excellent communication skills for client consultations and team collaboration
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards
- Flexibility to adapt to different garment types and customer requests
