Operations Manager – High-End Residential Construction

Salary: £55,000.00 - £65,000.00 + Performance Bonus

The Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take ownership of the day-to-day operational delivery of the business.
You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are properly resourced, programmes are maintained, subcontractors are coordinated, materials arrive on time and project costs are monitored.
The role is designed to remove operational pressure from the Managing Director, allowing them to focus on business development, estimating, client relationships and company growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of all live construction projects.
- Manage and support two Project Managers.
- Coordinate labour across multiple sites.
- Plan and manage subcontractor schedules.
- Ensure materials and plant are ordered in line with project programmes.
- Hold weekly planning meetings with Project Managers.
- Monitor project progress against programme.
- Produce weekly operational reports.
- monitor project costs and profitability.
- Resolve operational issues before they affect programme or quality.
- Drive continual improvement across the business.
- Maintain the highest standards of health & safety, quality and client care.
About You
You will have:
- A strong background within residential construction.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- A proactive approach to problem solving.
- Confidence managing site teams and subcontractors.
- Strong communication skills with clients, suppliers and colleagues.
- Good commercial awareness and understanding of project costs.
- A desire to improve systems and processes rather than simply maintain them.
Experience within high-end residential construction is highly desirable.

Within your first 12 months you will have:
- Introduced clear labour planning across all projects.
- Implemented consistent weekly project reporting.
- Reduced operational firefighting.
- Improved programme reliability.
- Increased labour efficiency.
- Given Project Managers the support they need to focus on quality and client service.
- Allowed the Managing Director to focus on winning work, pricing projects and growing the business.
