Overview
We are seeking energetic and dedicated HGV Class 1 Drivers holding a C+E license to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating large freight vehicles, double deck and flatbed trucks, to deliver goods efficiently across various locations. Your expertise in commercial driving and delivery will help ensure our customers receive their shipments on time and in perfect condition. Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards
- Load and unload cargo with precision, ensuring proper securing of freight for safe transit
- Plan efficient delivery routes to optimize time management and fuel consumption
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including delivery logs, inspection reports, and driver’s daily records
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues on the road
- Follow all company policies related to driving hours, rest periods, and health & safety procedures
Requirements
- Valid C+E (Class 1) driving license with up-to-date CPC qualification for commercial drivers
- Proven experience as a professional delivery driver
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving
- Excellent navigation skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude on the road
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed
