We are looking for dedicated and proactive Bank Theatre Assistants to join our Theatre team. This is an essential role supporting patients and clinical teams throughout the peri-operative pathway, helping to ensure the safe, effective and efficient running of our theatre services.
Working alongside Registered Practitioners and multidisciplinary colleagues, you will play a key role in maintaining high standards of patient care, infection prevention and operational excellence. Whether preparing theatre environments, supporting patient transfers or ensuring critical equipment and supplies are available, your contribution will help create the best possible experience for our patients.

A little about the role
As a Bank Theatre Assistant, you will provide valuable support to the Theatre and Recovery teams, helping to maintain a safe, clean and efficient clinical environment.
You will assist with patient movement and positioning, support theatre preparation activities and contribute to maintaining high standards of infection prevention and control. You will also play an important role in ensuring equipment, consumables and stock are available to support uninterrupted theatre activity.
This role is ideal for an individual who enjoys working as part of a team, takes pride in delivering high standards and can adapt quickly to changing service demands.
What you'll be doing

Assist with the safe and timely transportation of patients between theatres, wards and other clinical areas.
- Support the transfer, positioning and comfort of patients in accordance with manual handling guidance and individual patient needs.
- Prepare theatre and recovery areas before operating lists, ensuring equipment and environments are safe and ready for use.
- Assist with the movement, handling and storage of surgical equipment, instruments and consumables.
- Replenish stock and consumables to support smooth theatre operations.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised environment in line with infection prevention and control standards.
- Clean theatre areas and equipment between and after operating lists.
- Assist with the correct segregation and disposal of clinical and non-clinical waste.
- Report accidents, incidents and hazards promptly in accordance with organisational policies.
- Support administrative duties, including maintaining forms, photocopying, answering telephone calls and restocking departmental supplies.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support service delivery and maintain high standards of patient care.
- Participate in mandatory training and ongoing development opportunities.
