Senior Support Worker Opportunity in Nottingham
An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Support Worker to join an established Children's Residential Home in Nottingham, supporting 2 young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
Offering £13.50–£14.00 per hour plus £65 for each sleep-in, the position also benefits from a structured 2-on / 4-off shift pattern, providing a clear working rota and extended periods away from work between shifts.
This would be an excellent opportunity for an experienced Children's Residential Support Worker looking to progress into a senior position, or an established Senior Support Worker seeking their next opportunity.
What You'll Be Doing
As Senior Support Worker, you will:
- Lead and support shifts within the home
- Provide high-quality, child-centred support to young people with EBD
- Guide and support Residential Support Workers during shifts
- Build positive and professional relationships with young people
- Support daily routines, education, activities and independence
- Promote emotional wellbeing and positive outcomes
- Follow individual care plans and risk assessments
- Maintain accurate records, reports and handovers
- Maintain excellent safeguarding standards
- Respond calmly and professionally to challenging situations
- Work closely with management and external professionals
- Participate in the required sleep-in rota
What We're Looking For
Candidates should ideally have:
- Previous experience within a Children's Residential Home
- Experience supporting children or young people with EBD
- Senior Support Worker experience, or strong Residential Support Worker experience with the ability to step up
- Good knowledge of safeguarding and professional boundaries
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to lead and support colleagues during shifts
- Reliability, resilience and a child-centred approach
A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or equivalent, would be highly desirable.
