GreenFolk Gardening is a growing, quality-focused horticultural company caring for beautiful private gardens and country estates across Bristol, Bath, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, the Cotswolds, the Wye Valley, the Forest of Dean and Monmouthshire.
We are looking for an experienced gardener with strong horticultural knowledge and the confidence to lead a small team. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys excellent gardening, takes pride in high standards and can organise and support others to deliver outstanding results for our clients.

What you'll be doing
As a Garden Maintenance Team Leader, you will:
- Lead and motivate a small garden maintenance team
- Plan and delegate daily gardening tasks to ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard
- Maintain beautiful private gardens and estates to an exceptional standard
- Carry out seasonal pruning, planting, border maintenance, lawn care and general horticultural work
- Use your horticultural knowledge to identify plant health issues and recommend appropriate action
- Support and develop less experienced members of the team
- Train colleagues in the safe and effective use of tools and garden machinery
- Ensure tools and machinery are used safely and appropriately
- Build positive relationships with clients and represent GreenFolk professionally on site
- Help maintain the high standards and reputation GreenFolk Gardening is known for
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who is an excellent gardener first and a capable team leader second.
You'll ideally have:
- A minimum of 5 years' professional horticultural experience
- At least 2 years' experience in garden maintenance
- Excellent plant knowledge and identification skills
- Strong knowledge of pruning, plant care and seasonal gardening practices
- Experience leading or supervising a team - preferred, but we will consider someone with the right attitude and leadership potential
- Confidence using a wide range of professional garden machinery and power tools
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
- A reliable, professional and positive approach
- The ability to work independently and take responsibility for the gardens in your care
- A full UK driving licence and your own vehicle – essential
You must have your own vehicle for travelling to work and be willing to carry your own tools and equipment.
